Overview

Community Navigation of Eastern Ontario, also known as Navigation communautaire de l'est ontarien (CNEO), is a non-profit, bilingual organization dedicated to connecting people with community, social, health, and government services across Eastern Ontario. Established with roots dating back to 1964, CNEO evolved from the Community Information Centre of Ottawa.

Mission and Vision

• Mission: The organization aims to improve lives by connecting the community with the resources they need daily. Their focus is particularly on vulnerable populations.
• Vision: CNEO strives to be the primary source of information for accessing social and community services in Eastern Ontario, emphasizing compassion, empathy, respect, and confidentiality.

CNEO offers several key services:

• 211 Service: Provides information and referral services, helping people access necessary community resources.
• Community Bulletin: Offers updates on local workshops, events, skills training programs, and more.
• Database Maintenance: Manages a curated database of over 7,000 local programs and services.
• Custom Search Portal Development: Assists community organizations in creating customized search portals.

Funding and Partnerships

CNEO is supported by various funders, including the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, the City of Ottawa, and several United Way organizations across the region. As a registered charity, CNEO reports annually on its activities.
